The National Products property in Old City Philadelphia is a complex of adjoined buildings that were constructed at different points in the 19th and 20th centuries. Harry Caplan opened National Products at 109 N. 2nd Street in 1929. A supplier of kitchen equipment to the restaurant trade, National Products was incorporated in 1949. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Mr. Caplan acquired a number of adjacent parcels to create what is now known as the National Products property. National Products stopped operating out of this facility in 1996. Many interested parties have vied over the last decade for the privilege to redevelop this ideally located and vital site.
